Garden City, New York, February 12, 2003 -- As part of its ongoing commitment to
promote education in the travel industry, the Ronald A. Santana Memorial
Foundation — also known as the IATAN Foundation — is pleased to announce
that it will continue to award annual scholarships to individuals who meet the
Foundation’s scholarship criteria.

The time to apply for these scholarships is now! This spring, the IATAN
Foundation will once again award $9,000 in scholarships to agents at IATAN
endorsed locations and other eligible individuals who would like to enhance
their travel education, as well as to those who would like to begin a career in
travel. Completed Foundation scholarship applications must be mailed or faxed
by the deadline, April 1, 2003.

The IATAN Foundation is a separate non-profit organization, which has been
raising funds for its scholorship program for over six years now. In addition to
receiving several generous donations from individual travel agent associations,
the IATAN Foundation raises funds through its "Win the World: A Donation of
Dollars for Dreams," drawings.

"We are extremely grateful to the travel agency community for their generous
support over these past several years," said Denise Ladouceur, CTC, president
and CEO of IATAN. "It is particularly gratifying to know that we are able to assist
so many deserving individuals in their pursuit of a career in travel by granting
these scholarships through the IATAN Foundation."

The Win the World program invites travel agents to make a small donation in
exchange for an opportunity to win a featured prize. Prizes include airfare,
hotel accommodations and ground packages for trips to various destinations.

The most recent winner of the Win the World program, John R. Fugard, is the
owner of Eastern Shore Travel, Inc. in Fairhope, Alabama. His prize is an
exciting 7-day Glacier Bay Inside Passage cruise to Alaska for two courtesy of
Holland America Line-Westours.

IATAN requests agency owners and managers to encourage members of their
staffs or industry colleagues who would benefit from the Foundation
scholarships to apply as soon as possible. It does not matter what the
individual’s position in the agency is: they could be an owner, manager, inside
personnel or an outside sales agent. The Foundation is seeking assistance in
spreading the word that these valuable scholarships are available.

The process is easy. Applicants who are attending a post-secondary or trade
school may submit an application, along with the required essay.
TheScholarship Committee will then select the recipients, who will be notified
in a timely manner.

Complete details on scholarship requirements are available from the IATAN
website at iatan.org or from the IATAN FaxBack® Service by calling
1-800-224-2826 and retrieving documents #319 and #321. Everyone who meets the
scholarship criteria is encouraged to apply.

Anyone who is interested in contributing to the IATAN Foundation may contact
Jodi Viola at 1-800-294-2826, ext. 4.
